At a time when the UK needs a credible and responsible approach to energy security, this proposals rely on a large-scale solar development that would industrialise the surrounding countryside and place significant pressure on the local landscape.

The parameters plan identifies a broad area in which solar infrastructure could be located. Although the developer states that not ALL of the land shown would necessarily be used, the plan still reserves a substantial area for development and provides little certainty about the final scale, layout or impact on the local area.
